Pourquoi la classe flexible

Plus j’essayais de donner de l’autonomie aux élèves, plus j’étais coincée par l’agencement et la fonctionnement de la classe.

Mes élèves travaillent en plan de travail et étaient placés en îlots. Pourtant cela ne me convenait pas. Il manquait quelque chose.

Ma directrice nous a demandés de réfléchir et de faire un plan de notre classe idéale afin de voir ce qui était possible en aménagement.

J’ai alors effectué des recherches sur l’aménagement d’une salle de classe et là j’ai eu une révélation. J’ai trouvé des articles évoquant la classe flexible. J’ai compris que c’était le fonctionnement qui me correspondait.

J’ai monté un dossier, ma directrice a de suite accepté que je me lance dans ce fonctionnement et nous avons eu une phase de test avec les élèves.

Ils étaient aux anges et se sont très vite adaptés au fonctionnement.

La liberté dans le choix de l’assise ne les a pas rendus plus distraits ou dissipés mais au contraire les a motivés à travailler.

De plus, pour un fonctionnement comme celui-ci, des règles claires sont indispensables. Nous en avons profité pour revoir toutes les règles « oubliées » comme celles des déplacements, du silence dans les couloirs, etc.

J’ai encore pu sentir du mieux au niveau de la discipline.

J’ai enfin trouvé ma juste place de maîtresse. Je suis là pour les accompagner dans leur développement. Je les guide mais je ne fais pas pour eux. Je leur propose les outils et eux se les approprient pour apprendre. Les élèves sont actifs, ils collaborent. Ils sont capables de travailler seuls.

Cela a notamment permis aux élèves de ma classe de ne pas être trop perturbés au niveau de la charge de travail en autonomie pendant le confinement. Oui ce mode de fonctionnement était nouveau, (travailler à la maison et seuls) mais ils se sont très vite adaptés, étant habitués aux plans de travail et à organiser leur travail sur une période donnée. Je suis très fière d’eux au passage. 😉

Pour conclure, je ne regrette pas du tout ce changement de cap et souhaite en explorer tous les coins et recoins afin de continuer à améliorer ma pratique.
